Lou Cutrone

About Attorney & Firm Founder, Louis J. Cutrone, Esq.

Louis J. Cutrone’s distinguished and successful career as a personal injury lawyer actually began while he was working as a psychotherapist treating families referred to him by the L.A. County Child Protective Services. Lou was working with a young couple who was fighting to regain custody of their infant son. The child had been taken away by the County because it was determined that both parents had a severe learning disability.  It was clear to Lou that while the young couple would need help raising their son, they were still the best people to love and cherish their child and would try harder than anyone else to be good parents. To restore their rights, the couple needed legal help as well as counseling and Mr. Cutrone helped them with both.  It was then that Lou knew that his desire to help people in need would be best served as an attorney.

Lou Cutrone attended California State University at Northridge where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. He went on to receive his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and was eventually licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist. Lou spent 10 years as a practicing psychotherapist and family counselor. He went back to school at the age of 36 and graduated from Loyola Law School in 1996.  Later that same year Lou passed the California bar examination on his first attempt and has been practicing law ever since.

Lou’s first trial involved a young mother killed by a security guard who erroneously believed the young woman was a shoplifter.  The case went to trial and Lou represented the woman’s three young children.  It was a tough, wrongful death trial in Riverside California but Lou eventually prevailed for his three young clients.  Since that time Lou Cutrone has been a tireless advocate for the injured and the oppressed, fighting large companies, hospitals, insurance companies and big corporations on behalf of those who have been injured through negligence, product defects, and dangerous premises.  Over the years Lou Cutrone has recovered more than $25 million dollars for his clients.  He is considered by his colleagues a “true champion for the little guy . . . a lawyer’s lawyer” who is skilled, talented, dedicated and a relentless fighter for the rights of the injured and the oppressed.  Lou’s clients speak volumes of both his passion and his compassion for their cases and for them as people in need of help.
